Last Night's Game: Minnesota 98, Denver 92
The Timberwolves pulled out a 98-92 victory over the Denver Nuggets last night at Target Center, behind Kevin Garnett's game-high 24 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists. Wally Szczerbiak added 19 points in the victory. Eddie Griffin came off the bench in the fourth quarter to score 10 points (4-for-5 field goals) and record 2 blocked shots. Sam Cassell did not play due to a strained right hamstring. The Wolves rallied from a 7 point deficit with 5:50 left in the game. Five consecutive Szczerbiak points and a Griffin slam tied the score at 82 at the 4:08 mark, and two Troy Hudson free throws with 2:06 remaining gave the Wolves a lead they would not relinquish the rest of the way. It was Minnesota's second straight win vs. the Nuggets as the Wolves (25-25) now hold a 2-1 advantage in the season series. The victory also snapped Minnesota's season-high 6-game losing streak.
